Michelle Lothian
Michelle is committed to listening to the stories of her clients and truly feels that lawyers should be feeling people who think. She is incredibly tolerant and specialises in working with those suffering from disability, mental health issues as well as complex social needs.
Having practiced since 2008, Michelle has worked exclusive at Victoria Legal Aid and has held a strong criminal law practice as well as forging a pre-eminent reputation in the field of Family Violence Intervention Orders. Establishing a career in Geelong and then the Western Suburbs, Michelle is very experienced in working with those who come from many different cultural backgrounds.
Michelle is a Family Violence Practice Expert and has participated in the consultations for the Royal Commission into Family Violence as well as a practice area expert in developing Victoria Legal Aid’s Family Violence practice resources.
Advocacy, relationships with the Courts and understanding of her client’s legal and social needs are Michelle’s strengths. She has a long standing respectful relationship with Magistrates and Court staff, which benefits her clients.
